Amori Represents Oborevwori at Service of Songs for Late Community Leader Oghre-Ikanone in Sapele
The Chief Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Ighoyota Amori, on Friday represented Governor Sheriff Oborevwori at a Service of Songs held in honour of late community leader, Chief Wilson Oghre-Ikanone in Sapele.

The solemn gathering drew family members, friends, political associates and well-wishers who came together to celebrate the life and legacy of the deceased, who died at the age of 77.

The late Oghre-Ikanone was the husband of Florence Ikanone, a former Director of the State Security Service (now Department of State Services) in Delta State.

Delivering the governor’s message, Amori conveyed Oborevwori’s condolences to the bereaved family, noting that the state government shares in their grief. He described the deceased as a respected figure whose contributions to community development and public service in Delta State would not be forgotten.

While acknowledging the pain of loss, Amori urged the family to take solace in the enduring impact of Oghre-Ikanone’s life, describing him as a man whose values and good works would continue to inspire future generations.

Members of the family expressed appreciation to the governor for the gesture, commending him for sending a high-powered delegation to honour their late patriarch.

The Service of Songs featured hymns, prayers and tributes, with speakers reflecting on the deceased’s humility, generosity and commitment to peace and community building.

Amori was accompanied by political associates, aides and community leaders, whose presence underscored solidarity with the grieving family.

Late Chief Wilson Oghre-Ikanone was widely remembered as a devoted family man and advocate of community development. He is survived by children, relatives and associates who described his life as impactful and worthy of celebration.

The ceremony concluded with prayers for the repose of his soul and strength for the family in the days ahead.
