Oguma @ 77: Amori Celebrates Oguma as Pillar of Leadership and Development
“I congratulate Olorogun John Oguma on his 77th birthday. May the Almighty God grant him long life, peace, and enduring relevance as a father, leader, and bridge-builder for generations to come.”

As Nigerians from all walks of life celebrate Olorogun John Oguma on the occasion of his 77th birthday anniversary, the Chief Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Senator Ighoyota Amori, has joined voices of goodwill, extolling the elder statesman as a pillar of political stability, development, and selfless service in Delta State.

Senator Amori in a congratulatory message by his Public Relations Officer, Joelson Wilson, described Chief Oguma as “a rare blend of principled leadership, business excellence, and unwavering commitment to the progress of Delta State.”

According to the Chief Adviser, the life of Chief Oguma represents decades of purposeful engagement in politics, enterprise, and community development, noting that his influence has remained both constructive and unifying.

“At 77, Olorogun John Oguma stands tall as a leader of impeccable character, whose contributions to politics, infrastructure development, and party organisation have left indelible footprints across Delta State,” Senator Amori stated.

He commended Chief Oguma’s leadership as the National Political Leader of Ughelli South Local Government Area and his role as Chairman of the Ughelli North, Ughelli South, Udu Federal Constituency Steering Committee, describing it as strategic for the repositioning of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“His emergence to lead the federal constituency steering committee is a testament to the confidence reposed in his wisdom, experience, and capacity to galvanise people across kingdoms, wards, and political tendencies,” Amori noted.

Beyond politics, the Chief Adviser highlighted Chief Oguma’s towering achievements in the private sector as Chief Executive Officer of Obakpor Construction Company, a firm credited with shaping critical road infrastructure and boosting economic connectivity across Delta State.

“Through Obakpor Construction Company, Chief Oguma has translated vision into visible development. His work speaks across communities and generations, reinforcing the link between private enterprise and public good,” the statement read.

Senator Amori also acknowledged Chief Oguma’s demonstrated commitment to peace and security, referencing his historic ₦500 million donation to the Delta State Security Trust Fund, which he described as “a patriotic intervention that underscores his deep concern for the safety of lives and property.”

The Chief Adviser further aligned with the vote of confidence passed on the governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori by stakeholders of the Ughelli North, Ughelli South, Udu Federal Constituency, describing it as a reflection of the governor’s visible development strides and people-oriented governance.

“Leaders like Chief Oguma are indispensable to the MORE Agenda of this administration. Their counsel, mobilisation strength, and belief in continuity of good governance remain critical as Delta State moves forward,” Amori added.

He concluded by offering prayers for continued strength, sound health, and divine wisdom for the celebrant.

“I congratulate Olorogun John Oguma on his 77th birthday. May the Almighty God grant him long life, peace, and enduring relevance as a father, leader, and bridge-builder for generations to come.”

Chief Oguma, a respected son of Olomu Kingdom, Delta State, remains one of the most influential figures in Urhobo politics, admired for his consistency, philanthropy, and commitment to unity within Delta Central and beyond.
